Rules and Guidelines:
The Pittsburgh Lesbian & Gay Film Society (PLGFS) are the presenters of the 22nd Annual Pittsburgh International
Lesbian & Gay Film Festival (PILGFF). Since 1985, the festival has enjoyed providing the gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgendered community with a premier international film festival that helps serve the cultural needs of Pittsburgh and
the surrounding tri-state area. We have recently expanded to include programming of movies on a year round basis.
Submissions of films and videos by, about, or of interest to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, or transgendered people are
now being accepted for our 22nd Annual Festival to be held October 19-28, 2007 AND for our new “Movies Year Round”
screening series. 2007 Screening dates for “Movies Year Round” include: June 22, September 7 and November 30.
- Complete all sections of the form. Sign, date and print your name on the form. There is no entry fee.
- A separate submission form is required for each title submitted. You may photocopy this form.
- The PILGFF submission DEADLINE is FRIDAY, JULY 13, 2007. Submissions postmarked after this day will be
considered for the “Movies Year Round” series.
- ½” VHS NTSC video format or DVD only are accepted for preview. All preview tapes must be labeled, on both the
tape and the case, with the title, running time, filmmaker’s name, and a contact phone number.
- Rough cuts and works-in-progress are eligible for submission only if an exhibition print is available by Saturday,
September 8, 2007.
- Accepted categories are Narrative shorts and feature length, Documentaries, Experimental and Animation.
- Film and video works in languages other than English must be subtitled.
- Please do not send submissions in fiber-filled envelopes, as the dust damages tapes and VCRs.
- In addition to your tape submission, please send photos, stills and press kits, reviews or other publicity materials you
may have. Photos may be used for promotion or used for the PLGFS Web site and program guide. PLGFS must be
notified in writing of any press or photo restrictions. Photos can also be emailed as attachments in JPEG format to
films@plgfs.org.
- Final program decisions will be made by Wednesday, August 1, 2007, and notifications will be emailed or
postal mailed.
- Submitted tapes and materials of works not accepted for the festival will be returned only if a SASE (self-addressed
stamped envelope) of sufficient size and with sufficient postage is enclosed with submission materials.
- PLGFS does not pay rental fees for submitted works programmed into the festival.
- Shipment of exhibition materials to PLGFS must be paid by the applicant. PLGFS accepts no responsibility for loss or
damage of programmed exhibition materials during shipment to or from the festival. In case of loss or damage during
the festival, the responsibility of PLGFS is limited to the costs for repair or replacement of the print.
- Return shipment of exhibition materials will be paid for by PLGFS.
- Entering a film or video indicates the acceptance of PLGFS submission guidelines and requirements.
